About

Jesse Baggs is a cartoonist and freelance commercial artist.  Although he had many art classes throughout high school and college, he is mostly self-taught from watching Commander Mark’s Secret City as a child and a rigorous training program of reading comic books and playing video games.  He did earn a Bachelor’s Degree in English from California State University, Sacramento in 2003 with a specialization in literary analysis, a skill that comes in handy whenever he’s faced with an especially difficult drawing or compositional problem.

Is Punk Dead? is Jesse Baggs’s most famous comic, which sold out at the popular London comics shop Gosh! (among other locations), introduced a chapter on Punk music in British rock critic Ian Shirley’s Can Rock and Roll Save the World?  An Illustrated History of Music and Comics and was used by an Australian teenager as part of a school project on personal interests.

Jesse Baggs currently resides in his hometown of Sacramento with his dog, Lola.
