Dave and Cathy’s Wedding

A friend of mine, Cathy, recently climbed Half-Dome to marry her fiancé, Dave. The happy couple purchased Lego versions of themselves for their wedding cake (a cupcake they carried to the top of the mountain), and the photos of the event are spectacular, but Cathy also asked me to create a caricature of them. I was happy to oblige, and here are the results: If you’d like me to draw a caricature or portrait of you or someone you know, send an email to jesse@hardpressedink.com with three photos of the subject at different angles and a description of the style…

If you attended either or both of these events, you already know they were awesome. If you attended only one or neither of these events, you know they were awesome because you just read the above…

Looking for Something to Do This Weekend?

Lifelong pal Phil Altstatt is opening an art gallery and this Saturday, September 11, 2010 is the opening show (it’s an opening for an opening!). I’ll have close to ten pieces on display, including a new companion piece to “Always There” and the complete “Congressional Caffeine Congress Catastrophe”. The opening will be from 5:30-10:00pm here. Also, if you enjoy off-color musicals like Little Shop of Horrors or Jerry Springer: The Opera, I highly recommend seeing the readthrough of Sleepaway Camp: The Musical, put on by Graham-a-rama at the William J Geery Theatre. The musical is based on the truly awful…
